The refreshed Hongqi HQ9 PHEV appears on China’s 25th tax-exempt list with a 39.5kWh pack delivering 173km or 168km electric range. A 120kW 2.0T petrol engine forms the plug-in hybrid, while design keeps the vertical-bar grille and full-width taillights on its 5222×2005×1935mm luxury MPV body.

Nissan plans to export electric vehicles (EVs) from its Chinese factories to Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and other regions starting in 2026. The N7 mid-size sedan, the first EV developed in China, will be among the first to be exported. Nissan has invested in China's IAT Automobile Technology to develop software for export markets. Additionally, Nissan has established a joint venture with Dongfeng Motor Group to handle vehicle exports. Nissan aims to leverage the cost-effectiveness of Chinese EVs to enhance its competitiveness in overseas markets.

BYD has officially launched the SHARK pickup in the Chilean market. The SHARK is the first pickup to feature DMO (Dual Mode Off-road) technology, combining the performance and efficiency of traditional combustion vehicles with electric vehicles. Equipped with a 1.5T turbocharged engine and dual electric motors, the SHARK offers over 430 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque, with a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 5.7 seconds. It features BYD's Blade Battery integrated via CTC (Cell-to-Chassis) technology, capable of charging from 30% to 80% in just 15 minutes. The vehicle includes a 12.8-inch rotatable touchscreen, a 10.8-inch dashboard, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and is available in black, blue, and white. The SHARK also boasts a payload capacity of 850 kg and a towing capacity of 2,500 kg, along with six airbags and the DiPilot driving assistance system.

The Bugatti Tourbillon, successor to the Chiron, marks the brand's first foray into plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEV). It features an 8.3L V16 engine and two electric motors, delivering a combined 1,800PS and a top speed of 445km/h (with the Speed Key option). The Tourbillon showcases intricate craftsmanship and advanced technology, with a limited production run of 250 units, starting at 3.8 million euros.

SAIC-VW has revealed the ID. ERA 9X, its first “9-series” flagship. The 6-seat EREV SUV debuts a new design language with full-width LED light bar and illuminated logo, plus floating-roof styling. An EA211 1.5T range-extender pairs with single- or dual-motor layouts; the 65.2 kWh pack delivers over 400 km CLTC electric range. Launch set for this year.

Toyota Malaysia’s website now lists the incoming Vios HEV at an estimated RM103,900 for the 1.5 HEV and RM109,900 for the GR Sport—about RM13k above the petrol variants and slightly under the Honda City e:HEV RS. Standard kit includes a 10.1" wireless CarPlay/Android Auto head unit, 7" digital cluster, 17" two-tone wheels and full Toyota Safety Sense. The 2NR-VEX 1.5L NA engine (91PS/121Nm) plus 80PS/141Nm motor delivers 111PS combined via e-CVT, sips 3.6L/100km and offers an EV Mode button. An extra grey hue is offered; GR Sport can be ordered in black/white or red/black two-tone, while the hybrid battery and motor are covered by an 8-year warranty.
