GAC Trumpchi has launched the 2026 M8 HEV full-size MPV in two trim levels: Premium and Ultimate, priced at RMB 219,800 and RMB 239,800 respectively. With national trade-in subsidies and manufacturer incentives applied, effective prices drop to RMB 197,800 and RMB 217,800. The annual update retains the "Lion Awakening" design language featuring a large vertical-slat grille and signature 7-shaped LED headlights, with refined character lines and multi-spoke wheels enhancing its executive presence. The hybrid-electric powertrain targets the premium commercial MPV segment.
Li Auto Joins China Chamber of Commerce to EU, Accelerating European Expansion
Li Auto has been unanimously approved by the board of the China Chamber of Commerce to the European Union (CCCEU) to become a member and join its Automotive Working Group, marking a significant step in its global expansion strategy. Established in 2018 and headquartered in Brussels, the CCCEU represents over 100 member companies and more than 1,000 Chinese enterprises in Europe. Li Auto will leverage the platform to strengthen collaboration with European automakers and safeguard the legitimate rights of Chinese enterprises in Europe. Following its 2025 entry into Middle Eastern and Central Asian markets, Li Auto plans to expand into Europe in 2026. The CCCEU membership will provide crucial support for regulatory compliance, market access, and brand development in the European market.

Xiaomi Auto has unveiled the facelifted SU7 sedan in a new "Sunset Red" exterior color, with pre-sales opening at RMB 229,900 and deliveries commencing in April. The entire lineup transitions to 800V high-voltage architecture, improving charging efficiency over the previous 400V/871V configurations.

Geely EX5 Battery Upgrade to 68.39kWh in Australia, Range Expected to Increase 13%
The Geely EX5 (known as Galaxy E5 in China and twin to Malaysia's Proton eMas 7) is set to receive a battery capacity upgrade in Australia, increasing from 60.22 kWh to 68.39 kWh LFP according to official certification documents. The WLTP range is expected to improve from 430 km/410 km to approximately 486 km/464 km for Complete and Inspire trims respectively—a 13% increase matching the Chinese market's CLTC improvement from 530 km to 610 km. The 160 kW electric motor and overall specifications remain unchanged. Since its March 2025 launch, the EX5 has sold 4,359 units in Australia, making it one of the most affordable and popular mid-size electric SUVs in the market. The upgrade is anticipated to reach Malaysian shores soon.
