On July 10, Jetta officially unveiled the all-new VS8, a mid-size SUV featuring a bold “Warrior Armor” design language. Measuring 4,629×1,851×1,624 mm with a 2,731 mm wheelbase, the VS8 offers a tech-forward cabin with a 10.25-inch digital cluster and 14.6-inch floating infotainment screen. Power comes from a 1.4L turbocharged engine producing 110 kW, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Built on the MQB EVO platform, it features MacPherson front and multi-link rear suspension, and includes Level 2 ADAS with over 20 active safety functions.

The AITO Ask 5 Ultra has officially started pre-sales with a starting price of 238,000 yuan. The mid-sized SUV offers both pure electric and extended-range powertrains, with new exterior colors like Zero-Degree White and Phantom Purple. The interior features a new chestnut orange color scheme and a column-mounted gear shift. In terms of intelligent driving, the vehicle is equipped with a 192-line lidar and 4D millimeter-wave radar, supporting AEB omnidirectional collision prevention and eAES automatic emergency steering. During the pre-sale period, customers can enjoy a discount of 5000 yuan off the purchase price with a 2000 yuan deposit.

On July 11, Geely launched the 2026 ICON Chocolate at a promo price of 7.98-8.58 k RMB. The 4 350 mm compact SUV adds four new colours and keeps the 133 kW 1.5TD+7DCT combo, delivering 6.3 L/100 km WLTC. Standard kit includes Flyme Auto, 14.6-inch screen, heated front seats and Bluetooth smart key.

On July 12, GAC launched the Trumpchi M6 MAX Luxury MPV at RMB 109.9k launch price (MSRP 132.8k). Upgrades over the M6 PRO include a bolder “Dragon Face” front, 17-inch alloys, powered tailgate and dual-tone cabin. The 4 793 mm-long, 2 810 mm-wheelbase seven-seater pairs a 7-inch cluster with a 10.25-inch touchscreen.

At the 2025 China Auto Forum, GAC Chairman Feng Xingya stated that range-extended and plug-in models will coexist long-term with BEVs. The first EREV, Hyper HL, launches in August priced RMB 269.8k-299.8k. The 5.1-metre SUV packs a 250 kW rear motor and 60.21 kWh ternary pack for 350 km WLTP EV range and 1 200 km+ total range with 5C fast-charge.
