After an 18-month sales slide, Renault will reposition the Megane E-Tech as a performance-oriented hot hatch in its 2025 update. CEO Fabrice Cambolive told Autocar the model will receive a larger, 91 kWh battery—already used in the Nissan Ariya Nismo—and sport visual and chassis upgrades to justify the cost. Design chief Laurens van den Acker said the move aims to create a high-performance EV niche and revive consumer interest; initial proposals for the revamped Megane and a related all-new performance car are expected within 12 months.
