On July 10, Jetta officially unveiled the all-new VS8, a mid-size SUV featuring a bold “Warrior Armor” design language. Measuring 4,629×1,851×1,624 mm with a 2,731 mm wheelbase, the VS8 offers a tech-forward cabin with a 10.25-inch digital cluster and 14.6-inch floating infotainment screen. Power comes from a 1.4L turbocharged engine producing 110 kW, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Built on the MQB EVO platform, it features MacPherson front and multi-link rear suspension, and includes Level 2 ADAS with over 20 active safety functions.

The AITO Ask 5 Ultra has officially started pre-sales with a starting price of 238,000 yuan. The mid-sized SUV offers both pure electric and extended-range powertrains, with new exterior colors like Zero-Degree White and Phantom Purple. The interior features a new chestnut orange color scheme and a column-mounted gear shift. In terms of intelligent driving, the vehicle is equipped with a 192-line lidar and 4D millimeter-wave radar, supporting AEB omnidirectional collision prevention and eAES automatic emergency steering. On July 8, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) announced a public consultation on the revision of four mandatory national standards, including the "Safety Requirements for Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles." The standards cover fuel cell vehicles, electric motorcycle chargers, tank vehicles for dangerous goods, and seat belts for three-wheeled motorcycles. The consultation period runs from July 9 to August 7.

Honda has canceled its planned three-row electric SUV for North America, originally intended to compete with the Hyundai Ioniq 9 and Kia EV9. This decision is part of Honda's broader strategy to scale back pure EV development amid slowing global demand and the removal of U.S. federal EV tax incentives. The company will cut its R&D budget for 2030 from 10 trillion yen to 7 trillion yen, redirecting funds toward hybrid powertrains. Honda also abandoned its target of EVs making up 30% of sales by 2030. Despite this, Honda still plans to launch the 0-series SUV and sedan, and co-develop the Afeela 1 with Sony. The automaker will introduce 13 new hybrid models, aiming for 2.2 million hybrid sales by 2030, while EV sales are expected to reach around 750,000 units.

Chery has officially confirmed its entry into the UK market, with the Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 8 SUVs set to make their debut at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. These models will be optimized for local preferences and are expected to be sold alongside Omoda and Jaecoo vehicles. This move marks a significant step in Chery’s global expansion strategy and strengthens the presence of Chinese automotive brands in Europe.

Launched in Malaysia in April 2025, the Volvo EX90 is the brand’s flagship electric SUV, priced at RM442,888. Available only in the Twin Motor Performance variant, it features dual electric motors producing a combined 517 PS and 910 Nm, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in 4.9 seconds. The EX90 is equipped with a 111 kWh (107 kWh usable) NCM battery, offering a WLTP range of 623 km. It supports up to 250 kW DC fast charging, allowing a 10–80% charge in 30 minutes.
